Food Pantry (El Almacén)

The primary objective of the Food Pantry (“El Almacén”) at the Spanish American Center is to fight food insecurity in our community. We are open to all in need regardless of language, town, or origin. We welcome clients one time each month to collect nutritious food for their households. The Pantry is open every Monday through Thursday, serving the first 25 client households. We are open from 9 to 12 or until the number of households has been reached.

The Pantry picks up food donations weekly from the Worcester County Food Bank and our partner retailers. SAC collaborates closely with local leaders, other nonprofits, and social services to make sure our clients are informed and their food needs are covered. While waiting for food boxes, our clients have access to info about our agency’s other services and initiatives (domestic violence prevention, free vocational training, anti-tobacco initiatives, and much more). Food Pantry clients are met with empathy, respect, and food resources for themselves and their families.
