Timeline: 60-Years of Community
The Spanish American Center is the oldest social services organization serving the Hispanic and Latino community in Worcester County.
Over the decades, the Center has provided multicultural support in response to urgent community needs, such as HIV outreach (1990s) Hurricane Maria disaster relief (2017), COVID-19 vaccinations (2020), and meals and support for migrant families (2023). The Neddy Latimer House, a shelter in Leominster for homeless families, was recently named in honor of the Center’s Executive Director (2025).
Today, the Center is a bridge to other local resources and partners, helping residents access everything from health and legal services to employment and education support.
