Field Trip: A Visit to the Worcester County District Courthouse

WORCESTER, MASSACHUSETTS —— We recently took students from grades 6 through 12 on an exciting field trip to the Worcester District Court, the first of two trips. During their visit, the students were given a guided tour of the courthouse, including the unique opportunity to step inside a holding cell. They observed an arraignment and spoke with a judge who shared his journey to the bench and what inspired him to pursue a career in law.

The group then met with an Assistant District Attorney, and District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr., who answered their questions and shared insights into the challenges and rewards of being a prosecutor. The trip was wrapped up with pizza, cookies, and some fun swag from the DA’s office, making it a memorable and informative experience for the students.

The second field trip will offer the students a chance to explore the many careers available in the court system.
